Description
Between October 2000 and June 2002, a study of the spiritual beliefs of the population of Kendal (in the U.K.) revealed some fascinating trends in modern society's approach to religion. Known as the Kendal Project, the study looked at the prevalence of regular attendance at Christian churches and compared it to the popularity of a more free-form style of spirituality, which included Eastern philosophies and holistic health modalities. This program explores the scope and methodology of the Kendal Project and its conclusions about the town's spiritual life, and also considers how these findings may be extrapolated to society at large.
