Description
In this Globe Trekker video, Estelle Bingham tours Australia while flashing back to highlights of trips three other presenters, Justine Shapiro, Ian Wright and Megan McCormick, have taken around the continent. Estelle starts in Sydney with Australia's best beaches, and hang glides over breathtaking coastlines. She takes an expedition into the outback to study bush survival and makes time to explore the region's varied culinary delights, rich plant life, history as a convict colony, and national parks along the way. Estelle and the other presenters get familiar with Australia's wildlife, including crocodiles, koalas, wombats, dingos, and even a whale shark. She meets Aboriginal tribes at local festivals, gets a taste of outback towns through a local rodeo and some Australian poetry, and glimpses big city life at Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Estelle ends her trip in the underwater wonder of the Great Barrier Reef.
